Sarah works with her sister Deniz for James, the owner of the local barbers. They have recently moved from around the corner to the main road in order to be more visible to passing traffic. The move was done very quickly indeed and I called into to say hi to Deniz and James and comment on the good job they had done on the place. With a big set of windows across the front of the shop it's very open and bright. I'd not met Sarah before but picked up on the family resemblance. We got chatting about a number of things. Sarah designs women's clothes and sells them on eBay. I commented on how a good photo on eBay can make all the difference. We may be able to help each other out with clothes and models for a fashion shoot when Sarah has her collection ready. I like Win/Win. Sarah raised the subject of airbrushing images and how long it took so I recommended she check out GIMP. Fantastic airbrush, clone and heal tools. It took a number of attempts to get the shot as Sarah was playing synchronised blinking with me. The lights in the ceiling are great for their hairdressing but were in a less than ideal place for photography, putting Sarah's face slightly into the shade, hence a drop of fill flash. Sarah has done some lingerie and swimwear modelling and has been in the lads mags ZOO and NUTS. One photographer she worked with had her in the studio for 6 hours! She told me she was feeling rather tired at the end of it. We both agreed that that sort of duration is too long, everyone would be feeling tired and it would show in the photographs. Sarah had been a legal secretary but was made redundant and is now training to be a hairdresser. She hates reading or watching the news as she finds it too depressing. She loves watching EastEnders though! I guess it's the knowing that it's only fiction that makes it okay. Lovely to meet you Sarah, I hope you like the shot.
